Creative Play

Children are naturally creative. It is our job to give them the freedom, materials and space to let their creativity blossom to its full potential. - Jean Vant Hul

Creativity plays an important role in the mental growth of individuals. Children in FS2 are given a variety of opportunities to develop their creative expression. Staff teach skills such as colour mixing, cutting and moulding through adult led sessions which enables children to take these skills into their free flow sessions to explore further. Children can develop their creativity and imagination through painting, drawing, constructing, sculpting, imaginative role play, music, dance, drama and storytelloing. Staff encourage and support children to share their ideas, feelings and develop 'have a go' attitudes. Staff recognise and celebrate the importance of the process that children work through in their creative activities, rather than just focusing on the quality of the end product.
