In Key Stage 1 we are passionate about providing children with opportunities that promote curiousity, grow compassion and develop critical thinking skills. We are developing a REAL curriculum, which stands for Real Authentic Engaging Learning. Each topic begins with a “Launch” to hook the children in to the exciting learning which will be taking place that term.
Our favourite books
Miss Enever "I have so many loved books that it is very hard to choose a favourite! I love Six Dinner Sid by Inga Moore so much that I named my own cat Sid. My favourite part is when Sid goes to the vets, not once, but 6 times! My favourite series of all time is His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman. I first read about Iorek Byrnison when I was 10 years old and I have lost count of how many times I have revisited the lands of Cittàgazze or wished I owned my own alethiometer!"
Mr Cascarina "My favourite book is 'Gone' by Michael Grant. It was the first book I had ever bought with my own money and I literally loved it! It showed me that reading was fun and it took me into a whole world of my own."
Miss Hurst "My favourite children's book is The magic faraway tree by Enid Blyton. I read it as a child and loved it and then fell in love with it again as an adult when I read it to my own children."
