Autumn Term - Extreme Earth

Extreme Earth; How violent can the earth be?

For our Autumn term topic, children in UKS2 will be looking at all the natural hazards associated with living on Planet Earth.  From the internal structure of our planet - looking at the four layers and the theory of convection currents, to specific hazards - such as volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis, this topic will give children an overview of the threats our planet faces.  As the unit progresses, we will start thinking about how we can support these people, with a particular focus on the impact of Shelter Box.  Towards the end of the term, we will be visited by this charity in our school!  If time allows, we will be looking to raise money to support this charity and the excellent work they do.
